Consumers Energy keeping promise to Michigan, Cadillac area with grant

CADILLAC — On a day when Gov. Rick Snyder was in Cadillac talking about collaboration and looking toward the future, the Consumers Energy Foundation was in town investing in the Cadillac community.

The board of directors of the Consumers Energy Foundation recently approved a $50,000 grant in support of the development of Cadillac’s Heritage Plaza project, which is one of several placemaking projects currently under way in the city and the Cadillac Commons area.

Massive ‘Cadillac Commons’ project coming together; work started this month

CADILLAC — Ground has been broken on several massive projects near Cadillac City Park, collectively known as the “Cadillac Commons.”

As you may have noticed, work on the renovation of the Rotary Performing Arts Pavilion has been ongoing for several weeks, and this month, construction on the second project in the Cadillac Commons — the Cadillac Heritage Plaza — has begun.

A “fast and furious” construction schedule has been planned for the installation of utilities on Elk Avenue as the first phase of the Cadillac Heritage Plaza.
