Please join us at 4:15 p.m. on December 16th at The Plaza At Cadillac Commons, which is located west

Construction Update 10/25

Construction Update 10/25

The landscaping looks beautiful and we were able to take aerial photos and drone
video! We closed off the parking lot and ran the street sweeper so we can get a fresh and clean look at the space.

What a beautiful fall day we had to work with!

It’s exciting that the entrances off of Elks Avenue and from
the Plaza are all cleaned up and fresh looking for our visitors and patrons!

Landscaping has begun! The final furniture pieces (bike racks, benches, and garbage cans) will soon be installed. The synthetic ice will be delivered in a few weeks and the City is planning a ribbon cutting ceremony pre-winter to celebrate The Plaza. For the Downtown Cadillac Association’s Trick or Treat event, we are planning on creating a special fall colored night show at the Splash Pad! Send your little goblins and their family to the Splash Pad and Fireplace to enjoy our new public gathering space.

The dumpster enclosure siding were installed on The Plaza last week. The black metal framing […]

Construction Update 9/19

Construction Update 9/19

The Splash Pad was tested last week and was everything we hoped it to be! It’ll be fun for kids of all ages during the day and beautiful at night with the LED lights.

The drinking fountain and the mister bar are already operational. We will activate the water bottle filling station on the drinking fountain in a couple weeks. A plaque will be installed by the Splash Pad control box that recognizes the Leadership Team and the key donors for their contribution in raising the funds to pay for the Splash Pad. Providing we don’t have too many rain days, everything substantial will be wrapping up […]

Construction Update 9/12

Some exciting things have been happening in the Plaza the last few weeks! Final paving is scheduled for this Friday.  Pavement Markings are scheduled for Monday. So with that said, the parking lot will be barricaded off for those tasks.

We will need to have full access to the lots, Elks Avenue, and parking along Harris Street and Cass Street so we can get everything paved in 1 day. Parking spot striping will be fairly quick but we need to provide time for it to dry before allowing anyone to park in the spaces. Smears are not good! Thank You in advance for parking elsewhere those days.

The […]

Construction Update 8/24

You have probably noticed all the concrete going in this week. We have had much better
temperatures for placing concrete.  They will continue power washing and then will seal it like they
did the alley sidewalk.

The stone work began on one of the columns, that is being done locally by Positive
Chimney and looks great!

Some of the additional Splash Pad components have arrived and will be installed tomorrow! Remaining pieces are being shipped next week. Everything will be wrapping up quickly on the whole Plaza as parts come in.

The latest rendering of The Market has been released and it’s going to fit the site beautifully! There are […]

Construction Update 8/10

Construction Update 8/10

Materials are being delivered this week for installation starting next week. Elk alley was paved and the Harris Street
side parking lot was re-opened last week. Keep in mind that the alley is a one-way for business deliveries only!

We anticipate the pouring of concrete for the exterior of the splash pad to occur early next week. Bollards and light poles are being delivered soon for installation. The stone work detail is beginning on the arch, seating wall, and
fireplace. The landscapers and irrigation companies are ready to roll immediately following the concrete in the plaza area.

Below are the proposed sample banners that will be installed around the perimeter of the […]

Construction Update 8/3

Construction Update 8/3

This week we will be setting the concrete production schedule for the Plaza portion of the lot which includes the paving of the splash pad. Thankfully the weather has started to cool down which makes it much better for placing
concrete.

The stone work detail is ready to begin on the arch, seating wall, and fireplace. We have a few parts we are waiting on that are being shipped for the bollards, splash pad, and light poles.

Did you see the Cadillac News article showcasing the banner and the fireplace? They are going to be a stunning focal point for this gathering place in the community!

The coordinated banners […]

Cadillac Commons Update 6/30

Cadillac Commons Update 6/30

Curbs are in and the parking lot is being prepared to be paved! Thursday morning we will start to pave the base course of asphalt, it will take most of the day Friday. When the asphalt has cooled, it will be opened for parking for the weekend events!

The parking lots will be closed on and off as Elmer’s finishes construction and as the Plaza area, splash pad, fireplace, and amenities are being constructed/installed. At the very end of the project, a second course of asphalt
will be placed and then the parking spaces will be painted. You will see 10 handicap spaces at the access points which […]

Cadillac Commons Update 6/22

Cadillac Commons Update 6/22

The curb and the project site outline is shaped like a parking lot again! You can see the driveway entrances, the edges of the Splash Pad, and the additional parking space areas on Cass and Harris. The light pole foundations are in, as well as the water line and the fireplace gas meter.

Today the colored and stamped concrete samples were placed! These are done so we can make sure the colors and stamping pattern is to our specification before all the concrete is placed. The colors will continue to change over the next couple of days, it’s a really cool process!

Sidewalk behind the business may […]
