Commons Splash Pad Goes Purple In Honor Of Cadillac Relay For Life!

A really cool and little known feature of the new Splash Pad at the Cadillac Commons is that automated light and water shows can be programmed into the fountain, making for wonderful night time displays!

This past weekend on Friday night the fountain was purple to honor those being celebrated at Cadillac’s Relay for Life event just a few blocks away. The rest of the weekend the fountain was colored blue during the night displays in honor of Father’s Day!

Ice Rink in Cadillac Commons Plaza to be Installed

CADILLAC — Downtown Cadillac will look like a scene out of a Norman Rockwell painting this winter.

The fireplace inside the Plaza at Cadillac Commons has been in use for several weeks, and next Friday, Dec. 16, city crews will construct the other major feature of the project — a skating rink.

Cadillac City Manager Marcus Peccia said the city recently received all of the components of the rink and will likely begin assembling it Thursday.

It was a rainy day today as the 25th Cadillac Area Chamber of Commerce’s Leadership Class’ held their Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for the Splash Pad at The Plaza to kick off CHS 2016 Homecoming celebrations!

The Market at Cadillac Commons to Feature a Unique Concrete Quilt

The floor of The Market at Cadillac Commons is being designed to include a striking “concrete quilt”, it will prove to be a unique and defining feature of the structure. It will contain 207 (5’ X 5’) concrete squares exhibiting a color palette derived from the new branding design of the Cadillac Commons by Dani Renwick of Charmellow Design in Cadillac.

Each of the colored squares also doubles as an opportunity for local businesses and members of the community to invest in the project. The squares are now available for sponsorship during The Market’s Patronicity fundraising campaign – click here for details!

Work on the Cadillac Commons project is continuing in downtown Cadillac – meaning some updates to Elk Avenue and a new crowdfunding project are both underway.

The alleyway behind several Mitchell Street businesses known as “Elk Avenue” has been modified and has now been officially designated as one way delivery lane for stores to bring in supplies and merchandise.

It was streamlined in order to provide more space for parking and accommodate the new plaza within the parking lot.
