Work on the Cadillac Commons project is continuing in downtown Cadillac – meaning some updates to Elk Avenue and a new crowdfunding project are both underway.
The alleyway behind several Mitchell Street businesses known as “Elk Avenue” has been modified and has now been officially designated as one way delivery lane for stores to bring in supplies and merchandise.
It was streamlined in order to provide more space for parking and accommodate the new plaza within the parking lot.
Also plans for the market which ties in with the project are underway, but the city is looking for community support as they start the build.
A new crowdfunding opportunity is available on Patronicity.
If the project raises 50 thousand dollars by September 16th then an additional 50 thousand will be awarded to aid in the construction costs.
If the crowdfunding campaign is successful, plans for construction of the Market are set for spring of 2017.
